Counselors Give Back is a tradition that 2023 Conference Chair LaTricia Woods reinstated last year. Under her leadership, many of you purchased school supplies and stuffed backpacks to donate for a New Orleans elementary school. The assistant principal's visit to accept the gifts was a high point of the conference.
This year, our conference will have a positive impact on the Palm Springs and Coachella Valley through the Counselors Give Back program. Today, we're launching a donation drive for the Community Food Bank at the LGBT Center of the Desert, which serves the entire community of the Coachella Valley.
Hunger in the community is an increasing need, and your donations will help! The Community Food Bank served more than 12,000 households in 2022, an increase of 82% compared to 2021.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 by April 9. To kickstart our fundraising efforts, a very generous Counselors Academy member will match every donation dollar for dollar up to $1,000!

We'll share fundraising updates in the coming weeks, and announce the grand total we've raised for the Community Food Bank at the Spring Conference Dinner in Palm Springs on April 10, 2024.
